In this class it's all about mixing, matching and juxtaposing different yarns, shapes, techniques, colors and textures. We'll break down the walls between knit and crochet and disregard all boundaies between bulky and fine. Participants will find new confidence in planning projects and taking control over their stash.
Supplies:
Bring a selection of knitting needles and crochet hooks of different sizes, a darning needle and 4-6 different weight yarns from your stash. More material fo rplaying with will be provided by teachers.
Instructor Bio:
Stephen West is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. After moving to the Chicago area, he caught the knitting bug and started designing patterns while epic amounts of wool infiltrated into his life. There was no looking back. He now lives in Amsterdam and travels frequently teaching knitting workshops throughout the United States and Europe.
Ragnheiđur Eiríksdóttir is the nurse who couldn’t stop knitting. I worked for over a decade in sales and marketing in the pharma industry and alongside as a sexuality educator, author and lecturer. My publications so far include a knitting book Prjóniprjón and an instructional knitting DVDs (Prjónum saman and Lopapeysa knitting (Icelandic and English)). Some of my designs are published directly on Ravelry or in compilation books such as Prjónaperlur and Kúr og lúr. I developed the Icelandic handdyed yarn label, Nammi, which is currently sold and produced by Knitting Iceland. Right now I work full time as a knitting instructor, designer, author and the general manager of Knitting Iceland.
