The Sickle Cell Disease Association of Illinois (SCDAI) is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization whose primary mission is to enhance the quality of life for people with sickle cell disease and their families. This annual event is hosted to raise funds that enable SCDAI to continue providing programs and services to sickle cell patients and their families. We are a community-based organization that has been providing services since 1971.
The event path for this 8K begins at 39th Street and Chicago’s lakefront bike path. Participants head south to 57th Street along the lakefront’s bicycle and pedestrian paths and return back to 39th Street.

*children 6 & under are free with a paying adult (does not include event shirt)

- Be a team captain! *Register as a team of 10 or more and save $5 by paying $35 per participant.
- Set a personal goal! *Raise money by soliciting co-workers, friends, neighbors and family members!
