RaggaWest: Party Tricks For Knitters

In this class we cover various tricks that will come in handy in a wide variety of projects. We
will cover 4 different types of casting on, 4 different types of casting off, various uses for i-cords
and different techniques of making buttonholes. We’ll discuss how you can take control of your
knitting and make smart decisions that will refine your knitted pieces and make you the master
of your knitting!


Supplies list: 50 yards of worsted weight wool in a light color, needles to match your yarn (DPNs
or 32” circular), a piece of scrap yarn, darning needle, crochet hook size C or D. (Reminder: Yarn must be purchased at StevenBe)

 

 

 

 

Instructor Bio:

Stephen West is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. After moving to the Chicago area, he caught the knitting bug and started designing patterns while epic amounts of wool infiltrated into his life. There was no looking back. He now lives in Amsterdam and travels frequently teaching knitting workshops throughout the United States and Europe.

 

 

Ragnheiður Eiríksdóttir is the nurse who couldn’t stop knitting. I worked for over a decade in sales and marketing in the pharma industry and alongside as a sexuality educator, author and lecturer. My publications so far include a knitting book Prjóniprjón and an instructional knitting DVDs (Prjónum saman and Lopapeysa knitting (Icelandic and English)). Some of my designs are published directly on Ravelry or in compilation books such as Prjónaperlur and Kúr og lúr. I developed the Icelandic handdyed yarn label, Nammi, which is currently sold and produced by Knitting Iceland. Right now I work full time as a knitting instructor, designer, author and the general manager of Knitting Iceland.
