Julie Weisenberger: Seamless Sweater Construction

Do you hate seaming sweaters? This class will teach you how to transform a seamed sweater pattern into a seamless pattern. We will use the Gisela pattern from cocoknits and go through the pattern in class to transform it into seamless construction featuring set-in sleeves and English Tailored shoulders.

This class is three-part:

1. You will learn how to pull the relevant numbers out of the written pattern and plot them onto a spread sheet and use this as your pattern.

2. You will learn how that chart allows you to combine fronts, sleeves and

back to knit the yoke seamlessly.

3. You will learn how to finish the shoulders using English Tailoring.

Once you have learned on this sweater pattern you should be able to
transform other patterns.

Instructor Bio: 

 Julie Weisenberger While studying German in Salzburg, Austria, I learned to knit at a shop close to the Abbey where scenes from “The Sound of Music” were filmed. I have always suspected the women in the knitting shop moonlighted as extras in the movie; they resembled each other in so many ways. I enjoy saying I was taught by knitting nuns… even if they weren’t, really.

I currently teach at yarn shops all over the country and locally at A Verb For Keeping Warm and Knitterly in Petaluma.  I offer knitters of all levels a wide variety of classes, including felted work, custom-designed sweaters, and finishing techniques.
