This seminar will discuss the recently released ABS Guide for Dynamic Positioning Systems, which includes a significant update on classification requirements to reflect industry advances in the use of dynamic positioning (DP) systems.

The different modesof operation for failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) will also be covered.

System Verification, a life cycle commitment to review specific systems on a vessel, offshore facility or installation, will be addressed. Integrated software quality management (ISQM) will be discussed in detail including how it helps users identify ways to mitigate software errors that can affect the safety of the unit and its crew and how it can also assist with the verification of individual and integrated computer control systems that are critical for safe and efficient operations.
