Since 1976, Shelton School, located in Dallas, Texas, has
been serving intelligent students with learning differences (LD). Parents
actively seeking help for children with dyslexia, attention deficit
hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or speech and language disorders usually learn of
the school, which each year opens its doors to more than 800 students, grades
preschool through twelve. Montessori and other educational models are in
evidence at Shelton, the largest school for LD students in the world.
As a component of its mission, Shelton hosts educational
training program that shares information and expertise with individuals,
professionals and schools. Workshops and conference presentations are given
throughout the U.S. and overseas.
Shelton is committed
to LD learning-research. 35 years of gathering data and analysis in effective practices in the use of curriculum for those with LD, parterning with other recognized leaders in LD education, and sharing its findings, methods, successes and failures with the greater educational community have establised Shelton's solid reputation.
