Academic WorldQuest Competition


The Alaska World Affairs Council held its annual Academic WorldQuest Competition on Saturday, February 1st at 6:00pm at UAA Lucy Cuddy Hall. With over 30 student teams and 5 adult teams, it was a fullhouse with smiling faces all around! Student teams represented 10 schools from across the state including teams from Anchorage, Fairbanks, and the Matsu Valley.

This acadmically rigorous competition tests the global knowledge of high school students and adult team participants on topics including: Cybersecurity, U.S. Energy Policy, Global Economic Realignments, Middle East, Global Environmental Issues, US Education, Global Health, Geography, and more!

The winning student team from Fairbanks won the Brian Davies Memorial Award providing funds for travel and accommodation for the April 26th National Competition in Washington, D.C..
