Team Up With Common Core Expert Sandra Alberti

Keynote Speaker:

Sandra Alberti will provide insight into the key instructional shifts all educators should know about, top actions educators can take right now to implement the standards in their work and a list of ready-to-use resources for classrooms and schools.  

Sandra Alberti serves as the Director of State and District Partnerships Initiatives and Professional Development for Student Achievement Partners, an organization that was instrumental in the development of the Common Core State Standards. Alberti also served in the New Jersey Department of Education in the roles of Director of Academic Standards and Director of Math and Science Education. Prior to working at the state level Sandra held several district-level positions including school superintendent, assistant superintendent of teaching and learning, principal, subject area supervisor and high school science teacher.
After Sandra's presentation, Susie Morrison, the Deputy Superintendent and Chief Education Officer of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), will describe the state's Common Core resources and its plan for student assessments.
