Support Our Travel Teams

Oakcliff is Building American Leaders Through Sailing

With your support we will be able to truly improve the lives of America’s sailors.  These individuals arrive at Oakcliff hungry to learn, eager to work hard and with a raw talent that we help form into champions on the water, on shore and eventually in the board room.  There are many programs that you can donate to in order to help one of the many areas of need.

Travel Teams:

Oakcliff has trained saplings, acorns and supporters and now it is time for them to go forth and compete on a national and international level.  Your donation will help facilitate the basic needs of travel and entry fees and the recipients promise to represent your contribution well with hard work, incremental improvements as they climb up to the winners podium.

Your donation can provide:

$500 - team uniforms

$2500 - entry fee for a world tour event

$2500 dockage for away regatta's

$3000 - a coach for an event

$5000 - plane travel for an away regatta.

REMEMBER:  ANY amount helps!

You donation can support these travel teams:

Team Q

Mike Quaglio has been sailboat racing for most of his life. At the age of 11 he decided to take the helm of his family’s keel boat, and never gave it up. He managed his family’s very successful racing program for 15 years. Mike also was an extremely accomplished high school and college wrestler, winning conference, state and national titles during his career. After college, Mike found success while sailing with other teams, and he was an important team member for the 2001 J/80 World Champion boat (USA 352) and the 2006 Swan 45 World Champion boat (Bellicosa).

In 2010, Mike founded Team Q Match Racing training at the Oakcliff Sailing Center in Oyster Bay, NY, and has been able to rise up the steep learning curve with dedication and exceptional coaching.

212 Degree Racing:
212 Degree Racing is a young match racing team based out of Oakcliff Sailing in Oyster Bay, NY. Building on our collective experience with many aspects of the sport of sailing, each of us began to focus on match racing in the past few years and we will be teaming up this summer to begin seriously working to obtain an invitation to the Alpari World Match Racing Tour.  That is a BIG goal. Help 212 Degree racing by donating. This link is to their web site but don't forget to come back and donate.

Farr 40 Youth Team

Sapling graduates have gotten together to form a team that will train and compete this summer on their way to the Farr 40 Worlds.  They will be the youngest team ever to compete with the whole team coming in at under 25 years of age.  We are very proud that they are using all of their Oakcliff skills from marketing to wet sanding and of course sailing.  Click the buttom below to choose to donate to this young and determined team.

Build the Fund

Build the fund for Sapling graduates.  It was suggested that we call our graduates 'Mighty Oaks'  We aren't going to go that far but they will be mighty  and goign on to do great things.  By contributing to this fund you will help us to have funds available to help them with entry fees and some travel costs ensuring that they will be able to put their newly leanred skills to use.
