ANATOMY OF A PARTNERSHIP:                          Funders and Nonprofits Collaborating for New Solutions

According to a survey by the Maine Philanthropy Center, funders – large and small – say their number one priority this year is to refine their grantmaking strategies for greater impact. Sound like you?

That response makes it very timely to explore lessons from the three-year Quality of Place Initiative, lessons that are relevant to funders and nonprofits alike, across a spectrum of issues and interests. Whether you represent a foundation, are an individual donor, or serve on the staff or board of a Quality of Place organization, you will leave with ideas for how your grants, investments, and funded work can make a bigger difference in communities across Maine.

Speakers include representatives of the Elmina B. Sewall Foundation, Jane’s Trust, and the Leonard C. and Mildred F. Ferguson Foundation. They will join Quality of Place Initiative grantees – Maine Farmland Trust, Friends of Midcoast Maine, and the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine – in exploring how their work and their thinking have changed as a result of the Initiative.

You’ll also hear what is on the horizon for the Environmental Funders Network and its vision for vibrant Maine communities, and enjoy valuable networking time with your grantmaking and nonprofit colleagues.

We hope you can join us!
