Erdheim-Chester Disease  International Medical Symposium

Overview

The 2013 Erdheim-Chester Disease Global Alliance Medical Symposium will be held on October 31, 2013, at the Marriott Marquis and Marina in San Diego, California, immediately following the American College of Rheumatology conference.

The Erdheim-Chester Disease International Medical Symposium will provide an opportunity for scientists, pathologists, clinicians and other medical specialists from around the world to share and discuss recent findings related to patient diagnoses, treatments and prognoses.  Advances in the understanding of ECD etiology and pathophysiology will be presented and future directions of research will be discussed.

The goals of the symposium will be to facilitate collaboration among the international ECD medical community that will work toward:

  • Sharing knowledge across specialties
  • Developing common treatment protocols
  • Implementing cross-institutional scientific studies

A small registration fee of $50.00 will be used to assist with the costs associated with the event.  A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided for attendees.

Call for Presentations and Posters

Eligibility Requirements: Open to all qualified researchers and physicians (international abstracts welcomed).

Discussion themes will support the symposium platform with an emphasis on information sharing that improves the diagnosis and/or treatment of ECD, or provides new information to the basic understanding of ECD.  Information shared should include proven, anecdotal and prospective protocols for diagnosis, treatments, etiology and pathophysiology of ECD under the following headings:

  • Clinical-Diagnostics
  • Therapeutics
  • Basic Science
  • Future Directions

Abstract submission deadline is June 30, 2013
