The District of Columbia Behavioral Health Association invites you to join us for our second annual Behavioral Health Community Conference on Thursday, June 6, 2013, from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm.
Behavioral health providers face a challenging landscape this year as health reform calls on us to reach new populations through expanded coverage. Simultaneously, the economic environment requires us to deliver services more efficiently than ever. As a behavioral health community we need to arm ourselves with knowledge and focus on the future as we remain steadfast in our call for change through health reform. The conference gives us an opportunity to hear from leaders, and to learn from each other. Come to be re-charged and leave re-inspired!
Participants can choose from one of four tracks for the day’s sessions. Clinicians will benefit from sessions addressing HIPAA changes and the ethical challenges surrounding privacy (with continuing education credits for ethics), as well as new research on the links between mental illness and traumatic brain injuries. Executives can learn about two new business opportunities for behavioral health providers: the Health Benefit Exchange, and the health home project discussing how data is shaping the planning efforts. With health reform’s new opportunities for healthcare coverage of addiction and mental health treatment, it’s time to ensure that every clinic director and chief financial officer know how to design their clinic from front-end to back-end to maximize healthcare revenue. Our full-day billing session will provide the pointers to ensure your efficiency.
