Bob Semro - a leading expert in Colorado on the Affordbale Care Act
What have you always wanted to know about ACA?
We have just passed the third anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act. In that time, the law has survived legal challenges that went all of the way to the U.S. Supreme Court as well as opposition during the 2012 elections. Most of the Affordable Care Act will be implemented by the end of 2014.

What has the Affordable Care Act meant – and what will it mean – for Colorado and its citizens? Bob Semro, a policy analyst with the Bell Policy Center, will be exploring what we all need to know about the Affordable Care Act. Bob will be covering:

1. The legal and political status of the Affordable Care Act 2013-2016

2. A quick summary of the major reforms in the ACA:

a. Insurance reforms

b. Exchanges

c. Medicaid Expansion

d. Medicare

3. Direct benefits to Colorado

4. Reform details:

a. The Individual Mandate

b. New benefits in Medicare

c. Medicaid Expansions

d. Grandfathered plans

e. Employers/Employees and Health Insurance Coverage

f. Health Insurance Exchanges

g. Federal Subsidies (Premium and cost sharing subsidies)

Connect For Health Colorado presentation
Helping Coloradans connect for health
This fall, Coloradans will have a new and easier way to shop for health insurance. Connect for Health Colorado will be a new online shopping site and customer support network for individuals, families and small businesses purchasing health insurance. Financial assistance will be available to make insurance more affordable. The marketplace is being built by a public, non-profit organization established by a state law, Senate Bill 11-200. Find out what is happening and how you can get involved.
