Slow Food WiSE Veggie Plant Set for Home Gardeners 

Slow Food WiSE is very excited to offer an Ark of Taste Vegetable Set ready to plant in your own home garden. Enjoy the best of the season at the peak of ripeness all summer long.  
 
The Slow Food Ark of Taste is a catalog of over 200 delicious foods in danger of extinction. By growing and eating Ark products we help ensure they remain in production and on our plates.  

Slow Food WiSE has selected a set of 6 regional vegetable plants that are well suited to our area and delicious. We've partnered with Weber's Greenhouses who will start and nurture the seeds along, until they are ready to be planted in your home garden.  Order your set now, and pick them up from us at our booth at the Village Green Street Fair in Wauwatosa on June 1st or order them to be delivered in May along with your very own raised garden bed, built by our partner the Victory Garden Initiative.  

Our set of 6 organic vegetable plants in 3-inch pots include one each of:

• Aunt Molly's Ground Cherry
• Aunt Ruby's Green Tomato
• Amish Paste Tomato
• Beaver Dam Pepper
• Sheepnose Pimento Pepper
• Amish Deer Tongue Lettuce 

In addition to these plants, you will also receive a packet of Amish Deer Tongue Lettuce seeds for sowing during the growing season. This set will fit very nicely in a 4' x 8' garden bed. We'll include information on growing and using your new vegetables.  We'll offer recipes and growing tips in our newsletter during the summer. Visit our booth at the Village Green Street Fair for more resources and any support you may want.

If you're new to gardening, intimidated about how to start or want to expand, consider purchasing a raised bed from our Friends at the Victory Garden Blitz.  A crew of volunteers will deliver your raised bed, fill with organic soil and you are ready to grow!  With this option, your veggies will be delivered. 

Speaking of the Victory Garden Blitz, if you purchase an additional kit to donate to their Community Gardening efforts, Slow Food will deliver them to Victory Garden Initiative.
