WTS-Sacramento May Program:

Cosumnes River Blvd Extension and I-5 Interchange

We are pleased to be welcoming Nader Kamal, Special Projects Engineer with the City of Sacramento, to discuss the Cosumnes River Boulevard Extension and I-5 Interchange Project on May 13, 2013.

Construction has begun on the Cosumnes River Boulevard Extension! The new extension will result in a long-anticipated east-west arterial which will reduce traffic delays and improve safety. The connection will include a new interchange at Interstate 5, efficiently linking I-5 with State Route 99 to the east while also providing a new regional connection between Franklin and Freeport boulevards. The project will relieve traffic congestion on the Meadowview/Mack Road corridor and reduce overall travel times within the local and surrounding community. Come and hear more about the progress of the extension project!

About our Speaker:

Professional Engineer Nader Kamal received his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Sacramento in 1985. He joined the City of Sacramento in 1991, and now has 22 years of experience with the City focusing on transportation projects. His role at the City includes supervising, managing, evaluating, and providing technical assistance to a team of engineers.

Mr. Kamal has managed many special and complex projects during his time at the city, including the Main Avenue Bridge Replacement, the Tower Bridge Pedestrian Improvements, the 7th Street Extension, and the Richards Blvd I-5 Project.
