Estuaries 101 Workshop

July 17-18th, 2013


Join us this summer for an exciting two-day Estuaries 101 workshop focused on the National Estuarine Research Reserve's NEW Estuaries 101 MS Curriculum.  The curriculum contains 15 activities geared for 5-8th grade students.

Workshop will include Estuaries 101 MS Curriculum instruction, classroom and field activities, presentations by scientists and researchers along with lots of resources to help you enhance your teaching.  Sponsored by Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve.

Key features of the curriculum include:
  • multi-media resources
  • built around real-world research & current events 
  • aligned with national science and mathematics standards for grades 5-8
  • data exploration and climate extensions
  • each activity concludes with assessment questions

Registration Fee is $20 and checks must be received by July 8th.  Registration fee includes: lunch for 2 days, Estuaries 101 MS Curriculum,  resource materials, and continuing education credits. Space is limited!

Overnight lodging available upon request.
