Big Top Chautauqua Trip 

We are excited to announce that Wisconsin Public Radio’s annual BIG TOP TRIP to Chequamegon Bay will be a two-night, three-day get-away on August 1-3 which includes a viewing of two performances: Stories for the Water and Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know?

  

   Enjoy an evening of music reflected off American waters with a performance entitled, Stories for the Water on Thursday, August 1. This new original show will feature the Blue Canvas Orchestra, members of the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra, and other guest artists.

Starting off the trip, enjoy a meal at Good Thyme Restaurant, a 2013 Certificate of Excellence winner!

 

 

Trip guests will enjoy a two-night stay at Ashland Lake Superior Lodge.
First floor and single rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis. 
Ashland Lake Superior Lodge is nestled in the beautiful northwoods of Wisconsin, near walking trails where guests can experience gorgeous views.


 

On Friday, August 2, guests will have the opportunity to explore the town of Bayfield on their own or take part in a guided tour with Nellie Tate, an 1870’s pioneer’s wife, on A Lighthearted Walk thru Old Bayfield. Hear lively tales about the evolution of the city from railroad schemes to the Great Flood of 1942 that nearly destroyed the community!


Later in the afternoon, guests may also join a tour of Hauser’s Superior View Farm featuring a historical barn, farm and garden tour: jam, jelly, and salsa tasting: as well as a wine tasting where guests are able to purchase a souvenir glass for a small fee of $3.


In the evening, guests will gather for a three course meal of local foods at Second Street Bistro located in downtown Ashland. Afterwards, guests will have the option of exploring the town to see what downtown Ashland has to offer!

Wrapping up our trip on Saturday, August 3rd, guests will experience a morning viewing of Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know? Guests will be able to sit in on a live broadcast of the popular radio show prouduced by Wisconsin Public Radio. The show may include a Whad'Ya Know? quiz, music from the Whad'Ya Know Trio, and interviews with both celebrities and audience members. Make sure to tell your friends and family members to tune in, as they may hear YOU playing along with Michael!

After the show, sit down and enjoy a lunch with Michael!
