Continuing Pentecost Today: Mission Education Training Session Retreat

By baptism we are all called to participate in the mission of Jesus whether at home or around the world.  But how many Catholics are aware of this?

What We Do

Jesus passed his mission on to his disciples and for almost two thousand years the mission has been passed down from generation to generation.   It’s now up to us to make sure that this gift of mission is given to the next generation.

We are excited to offer a Mission Education Training Program for teachers, principals, DREs, lay ecclesial ministers, catechists, priests, deacons and wives.

  • Incorporate a stronger sense of mission into your ministerial identity and spirituality.
  • Develop skills and resources to better integrate the mission into your ministry and programs.
  • Help your students and parishioners come alive in their faith as you animate and support them in their calling to take part in the mission of Jesus.

The four sessions will be offered over the course of the weekend beginning with dinner on Friday night and continuing until lunch on Sunday at the historic Maryknoll Center in Ossining, New York.   Meals are included and  a limited number of rooms are available for overnight accommodation.

Session 1:  God's Mission, Scriptural and Historical Foundations

Session 2:  Continuing Pentecost Today, Models and Methods of Mission

Session 3:  Developing a Spirituality Based on Mission and Global Solidarity

Session 4:  Developing and Implementing Mission Education

Special material and resources for Deacons and Deacon Wives

Each participant will receive a Mission Resource Kit, including the book, What is the Mission of the Church?, sample posters, study guides, DVDs and more.

A donation of $100  is suggested to cover the costs of room, food and materials for those spending the night and $25 for those who commute, but we understand the financial constraints on those working for the Church and we are happy to host you as our gift if you are unable to make a donation.
