2013 Train the Trainer (refresher)

Out & Equal’s Trainer’s Network has been one of the keys to the success of changing the policy, benefits and climate to support LGBT workplace equality. Our trainers reflect the Employee/Business Resource Group leaders, HR professionals, allies and LGBT employees who want to take what they have learned back to the rest of the employees in their company.  Whether it is through water cooler conversations,  lunch and learn discussions, or briefings to key stakeholders, the Trainer’s Network members make a difference for all of us.

In the past, after you have completed your first certification period of 2 years, you were requested to take the full Building Bridges toward LGBT Workplace equality and Train the Trainer classroom or webinar courses again. This year, we are looking to move our trainer’s network forward to the next step.  This course is designed to review the latest updates, research and best practices since you last completed your certification.  It is also going to provide the opportunity to consider the next steps for you as a trainer. Take this course to renew your Trainer’s Network certification and continue to expand your professional development goals as a trainer.

You must have been certified as an Out & Equal Trainer during the last three years and want to certify for another 2 years as a trainer.  This course is designed for members of the Out & Equal Trainer's Network who have been using the LGBT Leadership Diversity training materials and want to extend your trainer's certification.  This Train the Trainer live webinar refresher will be offered as a 2 part series on June 4 and 25 at 10:00am Pacific. Each webinar is 75 minutes. This webinar course is an advanced track as part of the Out & Equal University program. Cost is $59.95 ($49.95 for government, academic and non-profit organizations). Discounts are available for groups of 5 or more who register at the same time for the webinar and this will also be available as a recorded archive after the course.

June 4 -Part 1 -  Updates to the Training Package.  Review the key training concepts and updates to the business case regarding LGBT workplace equality.  Look at the current trends, research and get an in-depth understanding of such topics as Self ID, Tax Equity, and global workplace policies.  Identify your goals and objectives as a trainer and identify steps to achieving those goals.  After this course, there will be several exercises assigned that will need to be completed before Part 2.  Participants will report out their results at the start of the next session. The group will also work collaborative on one of several projects regarding training needs and interests.

June 25 - Part 2. Using the current best practices, trainers will discuss and work on sharing their experiences and trends they are seeing in the workplace and developing training solutions.  Reviewing the exercises and collaboration work, trainers will develop problem solving skills and resources to move their companies to the next level, engage in local and regional training and support national/global initiatives working as a national trainer with Out & Equal.
