Books and music are a perfect pairing for early learning. Using songs and simple rhythm instruments, this workshop will provide creative ways you can  promote language and literacy skills by making books come alive through music in all kinds of early childhood settings . Participants will explore multiple ways to use music, how to choose books that are best suited to music experiences and how to feel comfortable leading music activities even if you can’t sing!

Deborah Stuart has spent decades working with young children and their teachers around the world. She serves as a national consultant and trainer in the field of arts and learning, and is the author of Start with the Arts, which links children’s literature and the arts as early learning tools.

Presented by: The Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire and VSA New Hampshire as part of their ongoing Arts in Early Learning collaboration, supported in part by a contract with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Our thanks to Amy Graham and Lancaster Play and Learn for hosting this workshop.
