SOUND and VISION: The Reach's Music and Art Camp

Monday July 29th to Friday August 02 | 9 am to 3 pm

Campers will learn about the connections between music and art by playing musical games, experimenting with sound using everyday objects as unconventional instruments, designing and performing on instruments made from used or found materials and learning about sound and music as it appears throughout art history.

Art projects will include performance art using the body and unusual objects as instruments, painting and drawing to music as a way of exploring elements and principles of design, trying new media like digital sound recording to make a "sound-scape" and more. Come and enjoy these projects and a musical performance on the last day of camp.

This camp incorporates the Kodály Method of musical education where through games, movement, songs and exercises kids begin to learn to notate music. Recorders will be used during SOUND and VISION, and can be brought from home or purchased new through The Reach for $5.
