Following her graduation, she began her clinical practice in Hayward at La Familia Counseling Service, a non-profit community mental health agency where she saw individuals, children, couples and families for almost 20 years, often using her fluency in Spanish. In 2004 Marcie received training through University of Miami Family Studies Center for Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT). In 2007 she completed a three year training program in the Early Childhood Mental Health Program with Children’s Hospital of Oakland. From 2008 to 2010 Marcie trained and supervised staff and trainees at the La Familia outpatient and children’s day treatment in BSFT and early childhood mental health. In 2011 she began a private practice in Oakland seeing individuals, couples and families. Currently she continues to see clients in her private practice and to teach BSFT at mental health agencies in Alameda and Marin County.
