An evening of humor, awareness and education
A 7-year study in Norway surveyed the role of humor in the lives of 54,000 Norwegians. Of the more than 2,000 people with cancer, those with a sense of humor were 70% more likely to survive than those who were less lighthearted.
You are cordially invited to join us at “Laughter is the Remedy”, Moffitt Cancer Center’s inaugural comedy/education event.
“Laughter is the Remedy” features headlining comedians who tickle the funny bone, combined with an empowering health education message. With a little humor included, the event will deliver a serious message about health disparities, cancer prevention and screenings.
“Laughter is the Remedy” will take place on Friday, July 12th from 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. at the Moffitt Cancer Center Stabile Research Building-Couch Auditorium.
Comedian Thomas Brown, a Tampa native, will bring on the laughs; and a fun and interactive education session will be led by the Moffitt team and some special friends.
“Laughter is the Remedy” is free (includes hors d’oeuvres and live music by The Caribbean Crew). Also available will be a cash bar and photo station - photos are $10 each and funds raised will be used to continue Moffitt outreach efforts in the community. For audiences 21 and older
