SPECTRUM Program Kickoff

Join us for the launch of Spectrum, Texas State SBDC’s assistance program focused on commercialization and growth in start-up and mid-stage technology companies. Attend the July 23rd session for an overview of the mentoring, tools / education and collaboration between support groups available to entrepreneurs in the Central Texas area.

We will overview the technology landscape in the Austin area, the ecosystems that exist, what's right for your business and where to start to get the help you need.  Two long-term SBDC clients will detail their path, the skills and tools they have employed as well as lessons learned.  We will also outline the first quarter of scheduled knowledge transfer series sessions and conclude with informal networking for all participants.

Barbara Springer

Project Manager of IC2 Institute's Global Commercialization Group, which focuses on evaluation of technologies and businesses to create commercialization strategies for launch into the United States and global markets.  Barbara will discuss the collaboration between the SBDC and IC2 that led to the inclusion in Spectrum of The Innovation Readiness™, a 10-module eLearning course that gives entrepreneurs tools to successfully launch their ideas.  The program is built for entrepreneurs, engineers, or students to help them gain clarity on their ideas and to build a case so they can begin business planning.

Spot On Sciences, Inc. develops and markets innovative medical devices that revolutionize collection and storage of biological fluids for diagnostic testing and medical research.  Based in Austin, TX, initial products, HemaForm™ and HemaSpot™, enable remote collection of blood samples offering solutions for multiple markets including clinical trials, biobanking, home-based diagnostics, military field medicine and population studies.
