  HANDWRITING REPAIR WORKSHOP

  • DATES:  July 23, 30, August 6, 13, 20
  • LOCATION:  your computer
  • TIME:  8-9pm EST
  • FEE:  $99

Join Kate Gladstone of Handwriting Repair, Handwriting that Works for a 5 part webinar series where you will explore handwriting concerns and learn techniques for self monitoring and improvement.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Participants will identify and explore controversial issues (and bust some common myths) relating to handwriting instruction and performance.

Participants will learn how to self-evaluate and self-monitor the legibility and speed of their own handwriting, as well as how to evaluate and monitor (and adapt where necessary) available handwriting curricula and other resources.

Participants will improve the legibility and speed of their handwriting, through systematic focus on the important shared (and other) elements of letters a-z, A-Z, and numerals 0-9.

Participants will explore the pros and cons of various ways of joining (and not joining) the letters, and will learn how to optimize their own (or a student's) choices in this area.

Participants will learn techniques for bringing handwriting legibility and handwriting speed to developmentally appropriate levels, for maintaining them at developmentally appropriate levels, and for insuring continued progress (post-instruction) by implementing strategies to balance speed with legibility when the task at hand prioritizes both (e.g., writing under time constraints).
