Heidi Butkus
Heidi Butkus has been teaching in California public schools since 1985. She has somehow managed to stay in Kindergarten all of those years, with the exception of five years in first grade! Combining a strong knowledge of brain research with practical experience, Heidi has created a wealth of fun and engaging teaching techniques that work well with diverse populations. She has presented at conferences nationwide, and is the owner and founder of HeidiSongs.com. Heidi has also created thirteen original CD's and DVD's for teaching beginning reading and a math skill, three musical plays designed especially for young performers, and has written some picture books and numerous other teaching resources. Heidi's multimedia workshops are filled with fun and motivational educational activities that have been classroom tested and revised for effectiveness with all types of learners.

Palma Lindsay and Sarah Zolriasatain, owners & founders of KFUNdamentals, have been teaching in So. CA collectively for over 45 years!  Always keeping up with modern trends and research in education, Palma & Sarah have developed a multitude of hands-on lessons and activities that meet Common Core standards and keep the FUN in the FUNdamentals! From Non-Reader to Reader:  MultiSensory Tips and Tricks for Teaching the Alphabet, Phonemic Awareness, and Sounding Out Words!
Do you have a class full of wiggly pre-readers?  They don’t have to sit still to learn!  Come
learn some teacher tested and child friendly tips and tricks for teaching kids the alphabet, getting kids started developing phonemic awareness, and teaching them to sound out words through movement.  We’ll also learn some songs to help kids along the way with these concepts. This session is jam packed with ideas that can help you channel your students’ excess energy into a useful learning tool to help you take your little ones from pre-readers to readers in just a few short months!

Common Core, Here We Come!  Making Math Fun! 

 Come and have fun with Palma & Sarah creating lessons and resources for Pre-K, TK, kindergarten, and 1st grade that meet Common Core Math Standards.  This high energy, fast-paced session includes an amazing handout that will have you leaving with hands-on activities designed to help your students internalize number concepts such as cardinality, addition, and subtraction.  Learn techniques and tips to teach number sense, algebraic reasoning, and computation.  Make math come alive as you discover new ways for your students to compose and decompose numbers all while “keeping the FUN in the FUNdamentals!"!

Conference Information
 

REGISTRATION FEE: (payable in advance) $159 per person. Checks, VISA, and MasterCard accepted. Purchase orders will not be accepted. Registration Fee includes: Attendance, lunch, and handouts. Attendees may be asked to bring a few materials for the Make-it-Take-it portion of the day. No confirmation will be sent. Your canceled check or your credit card statement will be your receipt of registration.

REFUND POLICY There are no refunds under any circumstances.  If your registration is accepted, but you are unable to attend, you may send a friend or colleague in your place.  In the event of an emergency which causes the cancellation of the conference, a $20 administrative fee will be deducted from all registrations.
