Start-Up Basics
This NO COST seminar is designed to help entrepreneurs understand what it takes to start a business, including:
- An introduction to business plans and the importance of preparing one.
- Exploring business entities – sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, and Limited Liability Corporation.
- Determining the local, state, or federal licensing requirements.
This workshop will help take the mystery out of starting a business and give you the confidence to become a business owner.

The SBDC at UCF-Lake County provides existing and prospective entrepreneurs with high quality business management consulting, entrepreneurial training and information access and transfer, enabling them to maximize their businesses' growth, competitiveness and profitability within their industry.
The SBDC at UCF-Lake County is a subcenter within the SBDC at UCF. The SBDC at UCF maintains its regional headquarters in Orlando and serves an eight county area that includes Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia counties.In the last year, the SBDC at UCF helped entrepreneurs create or retain 1,627 jobs, win contract awards worth $31.4 million, acquire $14.8 in capital formation, and increase sales by $31.7 million.
The SBDC at UCF is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. SBA.
