How to Deal with Difficult People

Presented By Rosetta Jones

We are surrounded by personalities that are different than ours! Working within today’s open office space and on project teams consisting of co-workers, subconsultants, and client representatives we are always keeping ourselves in check. The ability to work with challenging or difficult personalities while working against the clock to meet deadlines and manage budgets can be a struggle.  Ms. Rosetta Jones will share her experience in how to best manage and deal with conflicts and difficult people.

Ms. Rosetta Jones retired in April 2001, as Warden of the Brooklyn Correction Institution in Connecticut. This adult, male, Medium Security Facility specializes in sex offender treatment and provides services to offenders serving sentences for sexually related offensives, domestic violence, and risk of injury.  Ms. Rosetta Jones’ career began as a Correctional Officer in 1979 at the Niantic Correctional Institution for women, where she excelled to the rank of Lieutenant in 1984.  In 1989 Ms. Jones was appointed Executive Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner of Operations, and in December 1990 became Executive Assistant/Legislative Liaison to the Commissioner of Corrections.  She has served as Deputy Warden of Operations and Treatment of both minimum and maximum adult sentenced and pre-trial, adult male facilities. Ms. Jones retired from her position as Warden of the Brooklyn Correction Institution in Connecticut in 2001.

Her work has been recognized by The Connecticut General Assembly, Association of Police Commissioners, Council of Negro Women, and Permanent Commission on the Status of Women, National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice, Connecticut College Students Organized against Racism (SOAR), The New London Day, CPTV, and others.
