Unlocking the Reading Code:
Rewiring the Brain to Accelerate Learning

This professional development focuses on brain research (Rewiring the Brain: Neuroplasticity) to inform and guide literacy instruction. Through brain research we now know that every lesson has to be focused, and explicitly taught to successfully build new pathways in the brain. Teachers are entrusted with the job of building young brains, and this professional development will provide them with the skills to neurologically connect the areas in the brain where the sounds live to where the letters live. Through this Rewiring technique, educators will learn how to improve communication between the left and right hemispheres to dual code the information.

At the completion of this training, educators will be able to instruct their students using the proven techniques of neuroplasticity, and they will receive the skills to teach their students the 44 sounds of the English language, 6 syllable types, spelling conventions and so much more.

Find detailed program agenda here.

A detailed overview of the methods and materials found in Unlocking the Reading Code: Rewiring the Brain to Accelerate Learning will be provided. This turn-key, comprehensive curriculum manual has been successfully and explicitly teaching the foundational skills of the Common Core State Standards since 2004, six years prior to the CCSS being published in 2010.
