Where

North end of Belmont Harbor

*We’ll meet at the north end of Belmont Harbor in the grassy area east of the F Dock between the road and the seawall.  Going out on the boats is of course weather dependent.  Unless it’s storming, we will barbecue.  Fee is non-refundable, but we will reschedule if rained out. Parking:  there is pay at the box parking north of the Recreation Drive exit, across from the tennis courts for 1.00/hour.  There is also parking in the Marovitz golf course lot, which is east of the tennis courts, for $1.00/hour.  This area  is about a 10 minute walk to the picnic area.  All parking, closer to the event, south of the Recreation Drive exit, is a pay at the box flat fee of $11.  The harbor can also be accessed by a bus which stops at Addison and then a walk through the Lake Shore Drive underpass at Roscoe.  Please check with the CTA for more information.

Friends and Family Picnic and Sail Sunday August 11th

Join us for a picnic and a sail on Sunday, August 11th at the north end of Belmont Harbor* from 1:00pm - 5:00pm.  This is an opportunity to get your non-sailing friends and family out on the water for a brief sail and also spend an afternoon picnicking. We'll get out on our new  26' Colgate and on Priorities, our 34' Hunter.  Enjoy great barbecue fare:  burgers, brats, veggie burgers, salads, fruit, desserts and non-alcoholic beverages.  There will be a charge of $6 per person for Sail Chicago members and  $8 per person for Sail into Summer Students and their guests and ($3 for all kids 12 and under) to cover the cost of the food.  Be sure to bring a chair or a blanket to sit on. There are no picnic tables in the area.

If you plan to join us, please register and pay by August 7th. This deadline is necessary in order to ensure we will have enough food for all.  If you have questions please contact Pat Webster,  socialdirector@sailchicago.org.

Also, true to Sail Chicago’s spirit of volunteerism, help with food prep, set up, grilling, clean up, etc. is appreciated.  Please contact Pat if you’re interested in helping out.
