The Matrix with Substance use Disorders

Yes! This Event will be Recorded. If you can't make the 'live' time, no worries! You can listen later.

The Matrix (and ACT) are a wonderful way to influence people toward a healthier relationship with substances, and even sobriety.

You will learn:

  • How to quickly set up the Matrix for influencing Substance Use.
  • How to establish workable Values and Goals for the SUD client.
  • How to give respectful homework that always gets done.
  • How to build the ACT Matrix into ongoing treatment, including AA meetings.

Who is it for? Helping professionals (or students) interesting in helping others decrease or abstain from substance use.

What's unique? This webinar presents ACT the Matrix as a powerful model for engaging people from "At Risk" for substance use disorder all the way to the severely addicted.

Steve Hayes, co-founder of ACT says, “The Matrix opens the door to ACT in a way that is direct, simple, and useful. Kevin is not just its developer: he a master in its use. He lays down a great foundation for a more psychologically flexible approach to life and work.”

Your Presenter: Kevin Polk long ago recognized that ACT was a learning model made cool and interesting. Then he got lucky and developed the Matrix diagram, making things a lot easier. He's a peer-reviewed ACT trainer who's first ACT presentation was called "ACT Gone Wild." His webinars can be pretty wild, but you will learn a bunch, including how to learn valued living.
