SCPA Collegiate Leadership Summit 

As an editor for your newspaper, you have been selected to attend the Press Association's upcoming Collegiate Leadership Summit. This event is limited to key leaders of the Palmetto State's college newspapers. If you are the editor-in-chief, managing editor or a section editor of your newspaper, we invite you to meet with your peers to discuss what is working and not working at your newspaper. Advisers are also welcome to attend. Each participant is asked to bring an example of one great idea, successful project or other cool thing your paper has done to share with the group.

Agenda for Leadership Summit:
9:45-10:15  a.m. - Registration
10:15-10:45 a.m. - Idea Exchange (Introductions. Everyone will share one idea/successful project/cool stuff they've done.)
10:45-11:15 a.m. - Recruitment and Retention
11:15-11:20 a.m. - Quick Break
11:20 a.m. - Noon - Engaging Your Audience with Technology
Noon - 12:45 p.m. - Boxed Lunch Provided
12:45-1:45 p.m. - Scott Farrand's Maestro Approach to Newspaper Planning - During this hands-on session, editors will work on teamwork, planning, writing, design and photography skills... and more than anything else, thinking outside of the box.
1:45-2:10 p.m. -  Conflict Resolution
2:10-2:20 p.m. - Quick Break/Divide by area for roundtables
2:20-3 p.m. - Roundtables/Forum for editors to group by section for more focused discussions

You must register by Sept. 13. Cost to attend is $10, which includes a boxed lunch, snacks and drinks.
