Area high school junior and senior band members are invited to play with the Siena Heights University Marching Band for its second annual Band Day Oct. 5.
The Band Day coincides with the Saints’ Homecoming Weekend football game against St. Francis (Ind.) and is open to not only band members, but also to high school color guard members and twirlers. Registration begins at 8 a.m. in Sage Union. The program includes a rehearsal, field practice, lunch and performance before and during the 1 p.m. football game at the new O’Laughlin Stadium.
“We hope to have students from many different high schools attend,” said SHU Director of Bands Wes King. “It’s a great opportunity to perform at a college venue, and scholarships are also available for every member of the Saints Band.”
The registration fee of $15 also includes a T-shirt, lunch, water and a snack. Deadline for registering is Oct. 2.
IMPORTANT: Those attending should bring their own instruments/equipment.
