Strut Your Stuff
a fun, interactive car clinic for women and girls where you'll learn
everything you need to know to be smart, confident and safe
The Women's Fund invites you to “Strut Your Stuff” – our third annual interactive car care clinic for women that will teach you the basics about car maintenance, driving safety and tips for visiting the mechanic.
Whether you just got your learner's permit, are driving around with a mini-van full of kids or find yourself on the road alone, Strut Your Stuff has something for you!
You can choose the sessions that apply to you!
- Avoid car repair rip-offs
- Learn exactly what to do if you break down or have an accident
- Learn the most important tips for new drivers
- Understand the new car seat regulations. Are your children secured safely?
- Get tips for how to keep your car running smoothly
- and more!
This clinic will NOT teach you how to change your own oil or to change a tire (that's why we have mechanics and AAA!) Our focus is to give you short, quick tips about most important issues for your vehicle, keeping your kids safe on the road and interacting with your repair shop with confidence!
Our expert mechanics, including Dale Donovan, host of "The Car Show" on 55KRC, will answer all of your car related questions and teach you what you need to know to be confident about your car!
Strut Your Stuff will take place on Saturday, October 12 from 10 am – 1:00 pm at Donovan Tire in Pleasant Ridge. Tickets are available for $30 each. Also available is a "Get Her Rolling" ticket for $50. This ticket includes a ten minute one-on-one session with a mechanic to help you understand common maintenance on your own vehicle (where to check the oil, windshield wiper fluid, etc.)
Transportation = Self-sufficiency
The Women’s Fund is committed to helping women become economically self-sufficient. Did you know that transportation is one of the biggest barriers for low-income women who are trying to climb the ladder of self-sufficiency? A portion of your ticket price will fund a local outreach program that provides free car maintenance and vehicle repairs for women living in poverty. By attending this event, you’ll be improving your knowledge about cars AND helping low-income women in our community!
Gather the women and girls in your life who need some car confidence and learn this important information together in a fun, casual, and interactive setting!
The first 40 registrants will receive a complimentary car safety kit (valued at $50!)
