Many writers, editors, photographers, graphic designers, web specialists and art directors freelance.

Learn how colleagues are teaming up to:

  • pool resources
  • collaborate on projects
  • build their profile and their careers.

In this session, four highly regarded creative professionals will talk candidly about what's worked and what hurdles they've had to overcome to collaborate successfully with other creative professionals.

Maureen Barlow (pictured left) and Sherryll Sobie Cooke (pictured right) are the Co-Founders of Pixels & Prose, a full-service custom content consultancy. As the web designer and developer, Maureen is the ‘Pixels’ in Pixels & Prose.  Sherryll is a writer and former magazine editor. She is the ‘Prose.’ You can learn more about Maureen and Sherryll at pixelsandprose.ca.

Matthew McKinnon is the editor and designer of thewalrus.ca, and a frequent contributor to The Walrus magazine. He is an award-winning writer, and an instructor of online journalism at Toronto’s Ryerson University.

Alison Garwood-Jones is an award-winning writer, blogger and a former editor with Elle Canada and Viva magazines. Her blog, Society Pages, explores her take on human nature and was nominated in the “life” category of the 2013 Canadian Weblog Awards. Alison was also recently cited as a “favourite blogger” by BrazenCareerist.com, the Washington, D.C.-based work-related website for “next-generation professionals” profiled by 60 Minutes.
