QuickBooks for Beginners - 5 Part Series (Wednesday Evenings)

We will be providing computer workstations. You may have 2 people per workstation depending on how many people are registered for the workshop.

Pre-register for all five courses by October 2nd and receive a discounted rate of $150 for the entire 5 part series ($50 savings!).

QuickBooks for Beginners: Part 1 - Foundations of Bookkeeping
Date: Wednesday, October 9, 2013  Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The first workshop of a five part series. This two hour workshop is not an accounting class. This workshop will explain terms and there meanings and how they are applied in the world of bookkeeping. What is the difference between accrual and cash basis? Is it an Expense, Liability, Cost of Goods or a Fixed Asset? This workshop uses real examples to help you understand the bookkeeping process. QuickBooks for Beginners: Part 2 - How to Accurately Set Up QuickBooks
Date: Wednesday, October 16, 2013  Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The second workshop in a series of five. This workshop will be a general overview for setting up QuickBooks for your business. It will cover all the basic steps needed to efficiently use QuickBooks, including data file setup, setting up a chart of accounts, and setting up accounts payable and accounts receivable. QuickBooks for Beginners: Part 3 - How to Manage Your Accounts Payable
Date: Wednesday, October 23, 2013  Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The third workshop in a series of five and will begin with a fast recap of the previous session. This workshop will cover how to enter Accounts Payables, setting up terms, how to cut a check, how to pay a bill, how to take a credit, how to take a discount, how to pay a bill with credit cards, how to make a part payment, how to run an accounts payable report, how to void a check and setting up 1099 vendors. QuickBooks for Beginners: Part 4 - How to Manage Your Accounts Receivables
Date: Wednesday, October 30, 2013  Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The fourth workshop in a series of five and will begin with a fast paced recap of the second and third seminars. Following the recap it will include the following topics: How to enter accounts receivables, setting up terms, creating items for what you buy/sell, briefly discuss purchasing and managing inventory, tracking sales taxes, how to run a sales tax report, how to do bank reconciliation, how to run an accounts receivables report, and how to use collection letters in QuickBooks. QuickBooks for Beginners: Part 5 - How to Navigate QuickBooks with Ease
Date: Wednesday, November 6, 2013 Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The fifth workshop in a series of five and will begin with a fast paced recap of seminars three and four, followed by instruction on these topics: Job costing, how to run & sort reports, how to run statements, the importance of a cash flow report, keyboard shortcuts, introduction to financial statements, how to use memorized transactions, how to better manage your budget, backing up QuickBooks data, and how to use the reports you get.
