Common Core Mathematics:
M
oving from Understanding to Implementation

Tuesday, February 11 through Wednesday, February 12, 2014
Denver, Colorado
8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Understanding the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM) doesn’t necessarily mean that you have all you need to effectively implement these standards in your classroom. Attending this interactive workshop will provide you with the essential tools, templates, and information you’ll need to bridge the gap from knowing to doing. Learn about the instructional shifts in the CCSSM, how to design effective lessons, and how to ensure that classroom assessments align with the rigor required in the CCSSM.

This workshop will equip you to help your students gain the conceptual knowledge, build the skills, and demonstrate the mathematical practices described in the CCSSM. At this training, you will also receive:

  • Templates and processes for effective lesson design
  • Criteria for aligning performance tasks to the rigor of CCSSM
  • Strategies to connect concepts across grade-levels
  • Ways to introduce and engage students in learning new content, connect new content to prior knowledge, and help students reflect on and assess their own learning.

Who should attend?
K-12 educators desiring support with lesson planning and assessments for Common Core mathematics.

If you are interested in becoming certified to deliver this workshop to educators within your district or service area, consider attending an extra day of training.

Workshop tuition
$595 per person, $545 per person for groups of three or more. Tuition includes workshop materials, lunch, beverages, and snacks on each day of training.
