MG Dahl commissioned as a Field Artillery officer in May of 1982 after graduating from the United States Military Academy. Following the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, his first duty assignment was with the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany. MG Dahl also served with the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg NC, 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii, and 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, NY. He served as an Assistant Professor of Military Leadership at the United States Military Academy, current operations officer for XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, NC and Deputy Director of Staff Operations, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), Mons, Belgium.
