Learn the basics of canning and jarring your own food with Tom Wilfong and Vanessa Safie in the Garden. Together, the duo operate Copperpot's, a tasty jam company run from a home kitchen voted as the New Times' Best of Miami 2013 Tastemakers. Known in the Miami marketplace for jam flavors ranging from local mango to jalapeņo, Tom and Vanessa will cover the necessary safety steps as well as demonstrate practical application of the process of canning. Since canning is seasonal, this class will be cooking up a delicious cranberry jam, just in time for fall!
All students will have a chance to taste some of Copperpot's well-known recipes, go home with their own samples, and also take home the jam made during class. So come on by, slow down and jam on!
