If there ever was a time for a workshop on compassion and our call to inner transformation, that time is now! Compassion, like charity, needs to begin at home. This workshop, led by Br. Don Bisson, will explore compassion as the face of God healing the soul, and will help attendees see what gets in the way of offering compassion to themselves and others. This workshop includes input, reflection, sharing and prayer.
Don Bisson is a Marist Brother whose main ministry focuses on the formation of spiritual directors and supervisors. Widely respected as a commentator and workshop leader, Br. Don holds as Masters in Liturgy from Notre Dame, a Masters in Spirituality from Creighton, a Masters in Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, a Postgraduate Certificate in Pastoral Ministry from the University of San Francisco, and a Doctor of Ministry in the area of Jung and Spiritual Direction from the Pacific School of Religion. As you will see when you attend this workshop, Don's passion is the dialog between Jung and Christian Spirituality.
Fee: This is Free workshop (includes lunch)
Why no fee when others pay $60 to $80 for a Don Bisson workshop like this one? Well, it's not that we can afford to put this event on for free. We can't. However, we do not believe that the price of admission should get in the way of anyone who wants to attend this important workshop. That said, Ecclesia will happily accept donations from anyone who'd like to contribute to the work that we do especially if they felt that they benefitted from the experience.
Ecclesia is a transformational ministry of mutual learning, reconciliation, and healing as we serve the spiritual needs of marginalized women and men in the City of Newburgh. We strive to see God in the “other” and to practice loving them as ourselves; worship on the street each Sunday and on major holy days; celebrate the Eucharist at a table where all are welcome; perform unions/marriages, baptisms, and memorials; offer spiritual direction and pastoral care, and stand in solidarity with those living in poverty. To learn more about us, visit us on the web at www.ecclesia-newburgh.org. Better yet - Join us for worship any Sunday at 1:30 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of The Hope Center, 85 Grand Street, Newburgh, NY.
