Global health connections are apparent in all aspects of life. The ease of international travel and trade means disease spreads quickly from country to country. Conflicts result in thousands of refugees streaming across borders and thousands of displaced persons within borders. Immigrant communities in New Brunswick face some of the same health problems as immigrant communities in Europe. Natural disasters like Hurricane Sandy carry a huge loss of life, but also shut down international economic and travel centers.  Solutions to global health challenges like these will come from across cities, continents, disciplines, professions, academic units, industries, and service organizations.

Global Health! Spanning the Disciplines will bring together Rutgers University experts to discuss their viewpoints on cross-cutting global health problems like hunger, poverty, gender inequality, occupational health and climate change.
