but... getting hold of these samples is often challenging and difficult
Imagine a potential future where you could donate your tissue and blood for research by just swiping a ‘smart-card’. Would you sign up?
Science writer and broadcaster Dr Vivienne Parry will host a debate on this thought-provoking topic with a panel of contributors including Simon Denegri, National Director for Public Participation and Engagement in Research.
In addition several interactive display stands will demonstrate how tissues are used in research. This event is aimed at members of the public and will give you a better understanding of how donated tissue and blood samples are used in research.
The event starts at 5.30pm with a presentation involving patients about the collection and use of tissue samples for research. This will be followed by an opportunity to view several interactive display stands before the debate at 6.30pm.
Refreshments will be available.
