Erik L. Knutzen, CFA, CAIA
Chief Investment Officer, Partner, NEPC

Erik joined NEPC in 2008 as Chief Investment Officer.  Erik is responsible for overseeing Investment Research at NEPC, a group of more than 45 professionals including dedicated teams focusing on Alternative Investments, Traditional Strategies, and Asset Allocation.  As CIO, Erik leads investment strategy development for NEPC including market assessment and outlook, and communication of key themes and best ideas.  Erik chairs the Partners Research Committee, and is a member of the Traditional and Alternative Research Due Diligence Committees, and the Emerging Managers Advisory Group.  Additionally, Erik is a member of the firm's Management Group.  Erik has written white papers on topics as varied as Active versus Passive Management, Dynamic Asset Allocation and Opportunistic Credit Investing, and has been published in the “Journal of Investing” and “Investments & Wealth Monitor”.  In 2013, Erik was recognized by aiCIO magazine in their edition titled “The Knowledge Brokers” as #1 on their list of the 25 most influential investment consultants. 

Erik’s career in the financial services industry began in 1986.  Before joining NEPC he was Director, Institutional Strategies at RiverSource Investments, LLC. Previously, Erik worked at several investment firms including: Standish Mellon; Putnam Investments; Jeffrey Slocum & Associates, and First Chicago Venture Capital.

Erik earned his M.B.A. from Harvard University and his B.A. from Williams College.  Erik holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations and is a member of the CFA Institute and Boston Securities Analyst Society.  He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Audubon Society, where he Chairs the Investment Committee.

Peter Douglas, CAIA
Principal of GFIA pte ltd 
Board Member, CAIA Association

He is the principal of GFIA pte ltd, a pioneer of the Asian hedge fund industry, with expertise in boutique and emerging market managers operating in Asia and emerging markets.  He has been researching the hedge and absolute return fund universe in Asia since 1998, and has been a fund management professional since 1985, working in LondonSingaporeSydney, and Tokyo.  He was an Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) Council member for 10 years, and was the inaugural Chairman of the Singapore National Group and the inaugural Asia-Pacific regional representative of AIMA.  He sits on the board of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association.  He holds an MBA from INSEAD (France), and is a pioneer-cohort CAIA charterholder and the first in Singapore.  He is the only Singapore Financial Industry Certified Professional from the alternative investment industry. Peter was acknowledged by aiCIO magazine in 2013 as one of the world’s 25 most influential asset consultants.

Tinchuck Agnes Ng CFA, CAIA
Founder and Managing Principal, Athena International Capital

Tinchuck is a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University. She successfully passed the CFA and CAIA exam with Kaplan’s prep course and study solutions. Tinchuck started her real estate career in development in the US and found Athena to assist investors and mid-size operators in cross border property investments and capital formation. To date, she has completed 100+ asset transactions and managed portfolios totaling over USD 1.3 billion of real estate investments in the US, Germany, Sweden and China on behalf of investors from over 8 jurisdictions globally.

Janet Sin
Business Manager, Financial Markets, Kaplan Financial

Janet leads the Kaplan Financial Markets team in Hong Kong, having responsibility for all aspects of business development, strategic planning, course design, product marketing and account management. She spearheads the CFA, CAIA, FRM, Licensing Exam Prep Courses, CPT and corporate training. Her corporate clients include AllianceBernstein, Blackrock, Blackstone, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HKUST, Hong Kong International Airport, HSBC, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, MUFG and Prudential. Janet holds a bachelor degree of commence (accounting) from the University of Calgary, Canada. Prior to joining Kaplan, she has two years of auditing experience with BDO McCabe Lo.

Jo Murphy

Jo Murphy
Managing Director, Asia Pacific and EMEA, CAIA Association

Jo has been based in Asia for 16 years, predominately in Hong Kong and complemented by a couple of years spent in Singapore. She has held a number of senior regional management positions successfully leading sales, business development, marketing and client relationship management divisions and has both built and managed large and successful regionally located teams.

Jo was expatriated to Hong Kong, with Morgan Stanley, in early 1997 and has worked for a number of global institutions during her tenure. Her experience - across the service intermediary, buy and sale side business environments - has led her to obtain a meaningful network of senior level contacts throughout the region.

Her time spent at HSBC Securities Services, with a service intermediary focus, gave her access to a deep pool of regionally based investors which she then built upon during her role as Asia ex Japan head of sales and product specialist at Deutsche Asset Management for their full suite of alternative investment products.

Jo enjoys a solid industry reputation and is a member of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) Executive Committee and was recently voted "Asia's most influential women in the alternative sector" and also one of  "The 25 most influential people in Asian hedge funds" both by the industry leading AsianInvestor magazine.
