LEGISLATION EDUCATION CONFERENCE

REGISTRATION IS OPEN! ...ALL ARE WELCOME!

Whether you are an experienced advocate or are simply interested in learning more about ways to improve the health, safety, and education of all children, Florida PTA’s Legislation Education Conference is for you!

  • You will receive the latest information regarding the status of PTA’s Advocacy Goals and Legislative Priorities.
  • You will hear from Keynote Speakers who will provide updates on important Legislative issues.
  • You will have the opportunity to visit directly with your Legislators and attend scheduled Committee Meetings.  For those new to the process, we will assist you in making appointments with Legislators.

Florida’s children need your voice!  Get involved!

Registration Fee -  The registration fee for Florida PTA’s Legislation Education Conference is $55.00 until March 3, 2014 and $65.00 after that date. Registration includes all conference activities and materials and the following meals:  Dinner on Sunday, Breakfast and Lunch on Monday at the Capitol.

Hotel Accommodations -  A limited amount of rooms have been reserved at the Double Tree Hotel in the heart of Tallahassee for our Conference attendees at a rate of $120.00 per room.  A two-night minimum reservation is required.  This premium hotel is walking distance to the Capitol.  Once the room quota has been met, additional lodging information will be provided upon your request by contacting legislation@floridapta.org

* Attendees should make hotel reservations by identifying themselves under "Florida PTA Congress of Parents and Teachers" group. All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card. Reservations may be made by either calling the toll free number (800) 222-8733 or via the internet. To reserve rooms via the Internet, visit DoubleTree by Hilton Tallahassee. Enter arrival and departure dates. Make sure to scroll down and click on "Add Special Rate Codes". Then type in FPT next to Group code and click check availability. Follow the instructions to complete a new reservation.

Airport Shuttle Service -  If you are planning to fly to Tallahassee, the Double Tree Hotel will provide shuttle service to and from the airport.

Appointments with Legislators -  Tuesday, March 18, has been designated for visits with your Legislators.  Please contact your elected officials in advance of the Conference to schedule appointments. If you would like assistance, please contact legislation@floridapta.org.
