Diocesan Youth Event for Middle-Schoolers

Parents! Not sure what to get your middle-schooler for Christmas this year? Not sure what they like? How about a weekend get-away on a beach with other middle-school youth, junk food, beach time and fun? How could you go wrong with a gift like that?

Middle-schoolers! Are you anxious about spending the whole Christmas break doing homework, eating leftovers, and not getting to see your friends?

Join other youth in The Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii for a new tradition, “Christmas at Camp”, a middle-school only event during the actual Christmas season. Don’t put away your decorations or holiday spirit yet, as we gather together for a powerful but fun-filled weekend at the lodge at Camp Mokule'ia. We will spend the weekend talking about our lives, about God, and about the struggles of being a middle-schooler in today’s society. We will worship together, explore our faith through art, and build a foundation for a strong relationship with each other and God.

Cost for this event is $50 for the entire weekend, and travel scholarships are available for Neighbor Island youth. (To download a travel scholarship application, click HERE.)  

Each of the Neighbor Islands may send up to two chaperones that have completed the Safe Church requirements. Travel arrangements and selection of chaperones for Neighbor Island participants should be discussed and coordinated between the clergy/youth leaders on each island and form an island contingent. The name of the recommended chaperone should be submitted to Sarah Klitzke, Diocesan Youth Director, for approval. 

Registration is limited to 30 youth only, so sign up early!
Deadline to register is Thursday, December 12, 2013,
or when the limit is reached.
