                    BPS Train the Trainer - April 2014

Behavioral Principles and Strategies (BPS) is the Administration approved curriculum for management of disruptive behaviors as referenced in the Code of Maryland Regulations.   Upon successful completion of this course and follow-up requirements, participants will be authorized to teach BPS at their agency.  This is the only DDA-approved course to certify instructors to teach BPS.   The course provides participants with a review of the BPS Protocol, the curriculum outline, and demonstrations on how to teach correct physical intervention techniques.  On the last day participants will lead practice BPS training sessions to provide participants with realistic training scenarios.  Approved applicants must attend all 5 days*.   Please wear comfortable clothing.

 Training Dates:

4/10, 4/11, 4/14, 4/15, 4/16

Time frames- Each day we begin at 9:30am, take 30min-1hr for Lunch (You are welcome to bring your own, or bring back to training room).  We will end by 4:30pm.  Due variations of many factors, we will confirm agenda, each day prior.       

Pre-requisites: You must complete the “BPS  Application for Instructor Authorization” by printing the 3-page copy, below, or you may request a version that can be completed on your computer.    Once you have submitted your application you will be emailed the 2013 version of the BPS Protocol.

Applicants will be contacted before final approval to attend training.
