Prosecutor Bootcamp--2014

Please joins us for Prosecutor Bootcamp!  This two-day class intoduces basic concepts of prosecution and is intended for people with less than two years of experience in a prosecutor's office.  It will include sessions discussing the role of hte prosecutor, charging decisions, developing a case theory, drafting search warrants, pre-trial motions, and the special considerations involved in prosecuting DWIs and domestic assaults--the kind of cases typically assigned to new prosecutors.  This class will also be a good refresher for experienced prosecutors who want to get back to the basics.

This class will be held on February 13-14, 2014, on the 4th floor of the Governor's Office Building in Jefferson City.  Registration will begin at 8:00 am on February 13.  The course will conclude with a 2-hour Karpel training session on February 14.  The class will be worth approximately 13 hours of CLE.

The registration fee for this class will be $100.00.  If possible, payment should be made in advance by sending a check made out to the MOPS Revolving Fund to P.O. Box 899, Jefferson City, MO 65102.  The fee includes the course and materials, parking, and lunch on February 13.  

For those of you who will be traveling to Jefferson City for this class, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Capitol Plaza Hotel located at 415 West McCarty Street.  The rooms will be $83.00 per night, plus any applicable taxes.  Reservations can be made by calling the  hotel at 573-635-1234 or at 800-338-8088 and asking for the block of rooms reserved for the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services.  Reservations must me made by January 3, 2014, to guarantee this rate.  Reservations made after this date will be subject to availability and the prevailing rate.  Only a limited number of rooms has been reserved so make your reservations early!
