Dinner/Meeting Format

In keeping with the WCBA bylaws, the elected board conducts a monthly meeting to discuss and implement the various decisions that affect the association at large. Since vacating its brick and motar offices in 2013, these meetings are held at various dining establishments in and around Washington County. As always, EVERY board meeting is open to WCBA members.

In an effort to encourage attendance by association members, many of the monthly meetings are presented in an expanded, "dinner meeting" format. These dinner meetings provide excellent opportunities for members to enjoy a sponsored cocktail hour, dine at a local restaurant, mix and mingle with industry peers and learn about new, industry-related topics from an informative guest speaker.

The dinner meetings are always promoted well ahead of time through email and generally take place on the second Thursday of the month. All dinner meeting evenings adhere to the following itineray:

3 p.m.- WCBA Board of Director's General Monthly Meeting
The monthly general meeting of the WCBA board of directors takes place from 3:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at varying local dining establishments. The location of the meeting is published in emails and the monthly newsletter preceding each month's meeting. These meeting are "open" meetings, which means that WCBA members are invited to attend and listen and then provide their input at the end of the meeting. This is your association. Your involvement is valuable!

5 p.m. - Networking "Meet-and-Greet" Cocktail Hour

Even if you don't attend the board meeting, please come and join your fellow-association members at 5 p.m. and enjoy compimentary beverages before dinner while you socialize with your industry peers. Sponsored by a different WCBA member business each month, this casual cocktail hour provides a great time for association members to get together and catch up on local industry happenings.

6 p.m. - Dinner is served
Each month's Dinner/Meeting provides an opportunity to sample a formal dinner at one of our area's restaurants. Select your entree of choice when you register on-line. February's Dinner/Meeting will take place at Timmer's Resort on Big Cedar Lake in West Bend.

6:45 p.m. Featured Guest Speaker Following dinner each month, a different featured guest speaker is invited to deliver a brief talk on relative industry topics.

The December 12th dinner meeting will feature guest speaker Dave Spooner, who will discuss reverse mortgages. Dave will be covering reverse mortgages for seniors as well as the Senior Builders Initiative, which wil be unveiled in conjunction with Kerek Homes at the WCBA 2014 Home Building and Remodeiling Expo in February.
