Health disparities for Chicago LGBTQ youth are strong and pervasive. Results from the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) and two other studies report health disparities such as...depression, previous suicide attempts and self-injury.

School districts across the country are in the process of examining and modifying their existing policies and practices to effectively address the legal and ethical issues concerning Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ) populations. Some districts are known to undertake this important work only after unfavorable legal or media attention.
