Advanced Acting for Youth

with Matthew Seiden

Saturdays from 11:30AM - 1:00PM. Atlanta.

Actors increase their knowledge of film, television, and commercial acting while having a great time in this acting class. They practice various acting techniques and become familiar with the requirements for on-camera acting. Working on-camera in class will strengthen their ability to move beyond "acting" into fully bringing characters to life and reacting truthfully in the moment. As actors apply their skills to TV, film, and commercial scripts, they build a solid foundation that will move them forward to Film Academy.

Actors develop their ability to handle any type of script from cold reading to the rehearsal process to being filmed when they are performance ready. Mr. Seiden will encourage actors to apply their unique style to the text so that they can really 'own' the piece, making their performance truly stand out from the crowd.

Actors immerse themselves in the fundamentals of Meisner Technique, one of the most used acting methods in the film and TV industry today. A student of Stanislovsky, Sanford Meisner was one the of the founders of method acting, a technique originally developed for the stage. In this class, actors apply Meisner principals to their acting as they break down their scripts and act our their scenes.

  • Improv: acting skills, improvisation, and theater games.
  • Script Analysis: actors will learn basic Scene Study.
  • Meisner Technique: repetition, listening, scene methods.
  • Performance: perform scenes with the Meisner Method.
